AVENUE Q
WINNER OF THREE 2004 WINNER OF 2004 |
||
I created all of the puppets for AVENUE Q, and was in the original Broadway cast, originating the roles of Nicky, Trekkie Monster, and other characters.
AVENUE Q is a fresh new musical about growing up and embracing life, that features a multicultural cast of human and puppet characters. It's about getting jobs, paying rent, bad relationships, and the unfairness of existence, told through the conventions of a cozy, familiar kids' TV show turned on its head. AVENUE Q is a sharp, witty live musical strictly for adults, and it's one of the only completely original new musicals you'll find on Broadway. It's not a revival, based on a movie, an adaptation of a book, or a collection of old pop songs strung together. It is entirely original, and the best reviewed musical of the 2003-2004 Broadway season! Following a highly successful off-Broadway run at the Vineyard Theatre, AVENUE Q opened on Broadway on July 31, 2003 at the John Golden Theatre. In 2006 AVENUE Q became the longest-running show to ever play the Golden Theatre, and has broken every box office record for the Golden since 2003.
